Here we go! The age-old problem of the left - factionalism and rows about differences - many of them petty but destructive. Will this doom Corbyn and Sultanas new party? It could, but there is no reason why it should, not if the structure laid out in this excellent article from JC is followed. He says -
"One of the biggest mistakes we can make is thinking we must choose between parliament and our communities as battlegrounds for change. We want to build power everywhere. That is how you transform a moment into a movement that grows for generations to come. That is how we can take on the establishment, inside and outside parliament, to win a better society for us all"
And he is right. He's always said the party must be led from the grassroots, a bottom up party. This is the only way to build a truly democratic party, and it can be done if we fight for it.
As you would expect, there hasn't even been a founding conference and already, predictably, rows are breaking out. Join in the conference, make your voices heard, promote the values and policies you want. Then you can decide if you want to remain in it. Don't squabble and bitch about it beforehand!

This is what we all want! |
Here are some of the values and policies the party must have:
* Anti-Zionist and cease all support for Israel
* Pro-LGBTQ+ rights with explicit support for trans people
* Bringing public services - including water energy, schools, prisons NHS etc back into public control
* End the right to buy and build council houses
* Increase the minimum wage
* Tax the rich
* Kick out BlackRock and private equity
* End Freeports and SEzs
I could go on, but I'm sure if you want you real change, you will agree, support and fight for these policies. so stay involved, stay positive and work for real change!
