The simple answer is no. A longer one might be 'not much' - not anything that really matters anyway. After 47 years of neoliberalism since Thatcher in1979, the British state has been caputured by banks, bond makets, corporations and oilgarchs. This includes all of the main political parties - Tories, Labour and Lib Dems. Reform and Restore are a bit different. They are neo nazi extremists. The only exception is the Green Party.
The rot really set in with Labour under Tony Blair. Hardly surprising since he attended Fettes College which looks like something out of a Harry Potter movie, and was backed by the likes of Jeffrey Epstein chum Peter Mandelson. He privatised schools (academies) and hospitals, introduced student fees and built no housing. By the time Starmer arrived on the scene, thanks to groups like Labour Together, the Labour party and most of it's politicians were in the pockets of big buiness donors and the genocidal Israeli lobby.
Will things change under Burnham? He may tweak the system but there will be no fundamental changes. For example, will he reign in private equity, which is damaging our 'public sector' or what's left of it. Will he nationalise water, energy, or the Royal Mail? He's talked abut 'public control' of utiliies, builing council houses, and devolution, but also refused to condemn the Israeli genocide in Gaza.
